ISPR denies Kayani asked US for more drone strikes

The Inter Services Public Relations has denied the wikileaks report stating that Kayani wanted more drone strikes in Pakistan.

The ISPR spokesman said that only technical intelligence sharing had been undertaken in the past.

“No armed drone attack support has ever been asked for our operations which have been conducted using own resources,” a statement on the ISPR website said.

The ISPR statement further clarified that no outside technical support was sought during the Swat-Malakand Operation Rah-e-Rast in 2008-09 or the South Waziristan Agency operation Rah-e-Nijat in 2009-10.

These operations were jointly conducted by the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force, the spokesman concluded.
